Coaching Certification

Erie 1 BOCES offers the three courses that are required by the New York State Education Department to meet coaching requirements for non-certified physical education teachers, all other certified teachers and non-teacher coaches of interscholastic athletics.

The 3 courses are: 

  • Philosophy, Principles & Organization of Athletics;
  • Health Science Applied to Coaching; and
  • Theory & Techniques of Coaching.  

A registration fee is required for each course.

Participants successfully completing the program will receive a Coaching Registration Program certificate according to the guidelines of the New York State Education Department.
